Drake delays the release of his sixth studio album “Certified Lover Boy”

Music fans were eagerly awaiting the release of Drake’s sixth studio album “Certified Lover Boy”. The record was supposed to drop this month, but in a recent Instagram story, “@Champagnepapi” reassured fans that his album will drop within 2021.

“I was planning to release my album this month, but between surgery and rehab, my energy has been dedicated to recovery, I’m blessed to be back on my feet, feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January.” – Drake said on Wednesday.

While the 34 year old rapper did not specify which injury he was referring to, he shared a photo in October 2020 suggesting he had suffered a knee injury.

He appeared to be in better shape earlier this month, as Drake shared a behind-the-scenes shot of his fitness routine.

Besides the first single “Laugh now cry later” featuring Lil Durk, which currently has 223 million views on Youtube and made it to the number 2 spot on the prestigious US Billboard Hot 100 chart, not much is known about Drizzy’s forthcoming LP.

Since he burst onto the music scene almost a decade ago, Drake has broken many music records including one previously held by the Beatles. Seven singles off of “Scorpion” his most recent studio album, charted simultaneously in the top 10 spots on the US Billboard Hot 100. A feat that had only once been achieved by the Beatles in 1964.

“God’s Plan” released in 2018 debuted at number 1, and was only bumped down to number 2 but his newer single at the time “Nice For What”. This made him the first artist ever to have a new No. 1 debut replace a former No. 1 debut.

He’s also the rapper with most No. 1 singles ever, at seven.

What do we have to say about his upcoming album? NO PRESSURE DRAKE.
